GeoTag Your Blog Posts

Everything happens somewhere.

Whether you're blogging about world events overseas, or something you saw down your street, GeoTagging makes is easy to add geography to you blog posts by adding tags that describe your blog post's location.

Once your post is geotagged it becomes part of a location's meta-story - sharing information with travellers, neighbors, researchers - anyone with an interest in a particular place in the world.

Steps to Geotagging Your Post

  • Find your desired location in the map at left and click to generate tags (which will appear below).
  • Copy and paste the tags into your blog.
  • Publish your blog post normally.
  • Assuming that your blog is indexed by Technorati, watch for it to show up in the Geotagged tag search. (If your blog isn't on Technorati, you can add it here.)
  • Check back at BlockRocker.com (or any other geoblog mashup) to view your post in context (it may take upto 48 hours to filter from your blog, through Technorati, to BlockRocker).
